Joep Klein StaarmanCo-founder / Managing Director
Joep is co-founder of Barramundi Asia. He has more than 25 years experience in aquaculture, with extensive knowledge of the Asian Market. He specialises in establishing greenfield farms and expanding them into new markets. He was the MD of Marine Harvest Asia Pacific, where he managed the farms in Japan (yellowtail) and Australia (Barramundi). Under Joep, Marine Harvest Salmon sales reached 60,000 tons per year across Asia. Joep was also the MD of Nutreco Japan, which he built from scratch to become the 3rd largest fish feed player in Japan. Joep is a graduate of Groningen University (BSc) and Wageningen University (Msc) in the Netherlands.
Eva LimHead of Marketing
Eva oversees Barramundi Asia’s marketing activities and is developing the online ordering channel that will augment the farm-to-fork business model unique to Barramundi Asia. Eva has over 17 years of marketing experience across a wide spectrum of industries, including F&B, hospitality, banking and telecommunications. She served as Head of Group Marketing, International and Business Development at Commonwealth Capital, the holding company for F&B brands like Pastamania and Swissbake. Eva was also part of the team to kick-start the group’s PastaMania business in China.
Markus SchrittwieserChief Veterinarian
With over 10 years in the veterinary and aquaculture industry across Europe, Markus brings wide experience in finfish health, physiology as well as water quality analysis. His histopathology and disease management skills add a strong dimension to our UVAXX team. Markus has a M.Sc from the University of Stirling, UK and has published with Marine Scotland Science.
Loic MonteilNursery Manager
Loic previously served with Ponderosa Prawn farm, Australia, undertaking operations management at a barramundi nursery, strategic planning for process and production improvement and juvenile rearing monitoring & closed circuit management. He has also undertaken facilities management for a sea cucumber nursery at Jewelmer, Philippines. Loic graduated with a B.Sc in Aquaculture and Sustainable Environmental Management from the University of Technology (Biology), La Rochelle, France. He also holds a two-year Technical Diploma in Aquaculture from Brehoulou, Brittany, France.
Emmanuel de BrauxFarm Manager
Bringing aquaculture and research experience from Australia and Europe, as well as farm management experience in Singapore, Emmanuel is responsible for the operations of our farms, stewardship and growth of our biomass. Emmanuel graduated with a M.Sc from Aix-Marseille University and a B.Sc from the University of Melbourne. He is published in ICES Journal of Marine Science.
